Decided to cook for turkey day despite the chaos…

Thanksgiving leftovers in bed…
I made apricot and honey glazed ham, deep fried turkey, cornbread dressing, potato salad, deviled eggs, green beans, collard greens with smoked turkey, baked macaroni and cheese, sweet potato pie, cherry cheesecake, and banana pudding. I truly believe it was hard for some people to let me go just because of my food…They used to say my food could warm the coldest heart because I put love into my food. People could feel the energy of the food, and instinctively knew that I received pleasure from giving them pleasure… Something as small and simple as a delicious plate of food, I knew had the power to unite people, so every year I used to spend large amounts of money feeding both sides of the family for the holidays. Even individuals who deep down hated my guts, still would come back just for the food. Before I cut off my eldest sister, one year while we weren’t talking, she sat outside my house for hours, hoping I would break the silence, so she could get a plate. My younger sister spent hours trying to get me to make up with her. Eventually I broke down and allowed my oldest sister in my home. It was the worst mistake I ever made. Ever since then, holidays have bittersweet memories.
